What is the Acts 1:8 Challenge?
The Acts 1:8 Challenge is an opportunity for Southern Baptist churches to declare their commitment to a comprehensive missions strategy to reach their community (Jerusalem), state (Judea), continent (Samaria) and world (ends of the earth).
In doing so, a church invites its denominational Acts 1:8 partners -- their association, state convention, the North American Mission Board, and the International mission Board -- to assist them. Acts 1:8 Challenge churches benefit from denominational training, resources and missions partnership opportunities.
Who should be an Acts 1:8 Church?
Every Louisiana Baptist Church should be committed to carrying out the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20 and the challenge of Acts 1:8.
Why should your church be an Acts 1:8 Church?
Jesus commanded us in Acts 1:8 to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. He promised those who undertake this challenge his power through the Holy Spirit. The Acts 1:8 Challenge is a cooperative mission challenge to the local church from partner entities of the Southern Baptist Convention. Together, our desire is empowering Kingdom Growth through the local church.
